PROUDLY SERVING AND PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITY

The Malta Police Department is a Part-time Police Agency. All of our police officers are certified by the State of Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board and have a varied degree of law enforcement experience and professional training.

Police response to emergency and non-emergency calls for service are dispatched by the DeKalb County 9-1-1 Center and are shared with the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. Incidents requiring criminal investigation are forwarded to the Detective Division of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. The Malta Police Department also receives the assistance of the DeKalb County Major Crimes Task Force and the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department Narcotics Unit. The Malta Police Department encourages the public to report crimes and assist in the identification of criminal offenders. This can be done anonymously by contacting DEKALB COUNTY CRIME STOPPERS at (815) 895-3272 or by Email at crimestoppers@dekalbcounty.org
